Varnam is the crown of a Bharatnatyam Rangapravesha recital. It is both challenging to the choreographer/ Nattuvanar (Guru) and the dancer. Maye varnam explores the virtues of Goddess Meenakshi who rules the land Madurai, daughter of Malayadvajan and wife of Lord Shiva

Andal Kouthuvam

This piece is dedicated to the shrine at Srivilliputthur. Andal is the only female Alvar among the 12 Alvar saints of South India. The dancer makes a traditional entry as the character herself and introduces herself as the most beautiful and beloved of her Lord Krishna
